Pat Conroy is a beloved Lowcountry author. Much of his inspiration stemmed from his early childhood in Beaufort, South Carolina, his teaching on Daufauskie Island, his life at the Citadel, and his rich connection with the landscape. On this tour, visit sites from Conroy’s famous works, homes in the historic Point where he lived, his grave on St. Helena Island and locations connected to the filming of Prince of Tides and Great Santini.
Lastly, swing by the Conroy Center to see artifacts from Pat’s life, including his writing desk and chair, the Great Santini’s flight jacket, and the handwritten prologue to The Prince of Tides.
